Lilies on the Land, won a trio of awards at the 2016 Woking Drama Festival. A remarkable piece of theatre which celebrates an extraordinary episode in Britain’s history – the Women’s Land Army of World War II.

The play charts the personal journeys of four women (Millie Hart, Victoria Franklin, Samantha Myers & Nicky Barnes) who sign up to become Land Girls, determined to work endless, backbreaking hours on farms across the country.

 “September In The Rain” by John Godber set in the golden age of Blackpool, complete with boarding houses, donkey rides, talent contests, saucy postcards, stripy deckchairs, rolled-up trousers, knotted hankies and queues for ice cream. 

 

An autobiographical portrayal of family seaside holidays as Yorkshire miner Jack (Jason Lambert) and his wife Liz (Samantha Myers) share poignant memories filled with laughter and tears, fish and chips and wet and windy promenades.

The play was adapted and directed by Rodney Pearson
